Former Chief Minister of Telangana KCR was injured after a fall.

In a surprising turn, the former Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), found himself at the center of concern and speculation as news broke about him sustaining injuries after a fall.

Rao, who quit as chief minister on December 3 following his party’s defeat in the recent assembly elections, has been staying at his farmhouse at Erravelli near here and has been meeting party leaders and common people. On Thursday night, he fell down in his bathroom, said KTR.

"Sri KCR Guru needs to undergo Hip Replacement Surgery today after he had a fall in his bathroom. Thanks to all those who have been sending messages for his speedy recovery," said KTR. 

K Chandrashekhar Rao Garu slipped, fell in his bathroom at his residence, and was subsequently brought to Yashoda Hospital. On evaluation, including CT scans he was found to have a left Hip fracture.

"He is being constantly monitored by a multi-disciplinary team including Orthopaedic, Anaesthesia, General Medicine, and Pain Medicine. His general condition is stable. The hospital will update his health status periodically," Yashoda Hospital said.

Hyderabad's Yashoda Hospitals on Friday issued an update on KCR's health saying that he was found to have a left hip fracture (intracapsular neck of femur fracture). "He would require left hip replacement for the same and the usual course of recovery for such cases is expected to be 6-8 weeks. He is being constantly monitored by a multi-disciplinary team. His general condition is stable," said the hospital.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy wished him a speedy recovery. The latter has directed the officials of the Health Ministry to monitor his health condition and provide all assistance to him.

Regardless of ideological differences, the political fraternity has come together to wish KCR a swift recovery. In times of adversity, the unity expressed by leaders from various parties reflects the underlying understanding that health transcends political boundaries.
